When the room still went uncleaned , I told her to "...clean your room, or I will." That happened once. She was not a happy camper when I cleaned her room. The only thing I left in her room, were her bed, dresser, lamp, alarm clock and clothes. She never went more than two days without cleaning her room after that.

When she went to college, her room was always clean when I arrived to visit and today she is a very fine house keeper, even though she is married and works outside of the home. She is not immaculate but she does know that responsibility is a key factor to success. She relishes in it and it shows to all around her. She thanks me all the time for showing her what responsibility brings. She sees so many entitlement socialists around her who wonder why SHE gets the promotions that they don't.

jemAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823719196374898491.post-28399592759176675312012-01-16T15:49:18.761-06:002012-01-16T15:49:18.761-06:00Okay, doing a little blog pimping here, but I real...Okay, doing a little blog pimping here, but I really am interested in your take on my last two blog posts. If it helps, they are related both to OWS, and the desire for the government to take care of you. :)Barb the Evil Geniushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04635449477605703171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823719196374898491.post-73015960657232423952012-01-16T14:40:55.705-06:002012-01-16T14:40:55.705-06:00Absolutely true. The name of the game for liberal...Absolutely true. The name of the game for liberals has been to absolve as many as possible from any responsibility- and to hang the consequences of that on the rest of us.

My problem is more with Republicans than Democrats on this, though, because they seem to believe (as a rule) that laws that "require one to be responsible," or whatever, are somehow okay. What I want them to do is oppose the initial assumption in the first place- it's not Government's place to make people be "responsible" nor to shelter them from the consequences of their irresponsible behaviors.Dedicated Tentherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02169003228002700000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823719196374898491.post-84899051773604778812012-01-16T14:36:56.487-06:002012-01-16T14:36:56.487-06:00There's a reason I call this generation "...There's a reason I call this generation "The entitlement generation." The liberal mindset is for actions not to have consequences and for someone else to clean up for their mistakes, i.e. abortion, OWS (pay for my crappy, useless college degree), and every nanny state idea over the last 80 years.Spongenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823719196374898491.post-78152207868237242092012-01-16T09:02:49.810-06:002012-01-16T09:02:49.810-06:00Responsibility is so 1900's. Almost our entire government structure is dedicated to the proposition that no one is responsible enough to take care of themselves or make a personal decision. After all, they might make a "bad" decision and/or suffer some adverse consequences from lack of a nanny state.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
